Legal Bootcamp · Education Day
A Morning with NKBA Manhattan
At its 5th Annual Education Day, the Manhattan Chapter of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), the leading trade association for kitchen and bath professionals, hosted a Legal Bootcamp led by Ramona Morgan of Morgan Business Counsel and moderated by Rose Ott, an accomplished designer and respected industry leader.
Before a full and highly engaged audience at the Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove showroom in the A+D Building, the session offered a valuable opportunity to examine the challenges and nuances designers face in structuring client agreements: defining scope, protecting creative work, securing payment, and managing risk without compromising the client relationship. Questions from the floor were thoughtful and practical, and several important themes emerged. A few highlights are below, along with sample clauses and practical guidance on resolving disputes. We look forward to continuing the conversation.
